The Virtual Exchange Project was carried out in the winter semester 2024\/25 and brought together students from five universities across Europe to explore different perspectives on some of today\u2019s most pressing issues, including climate change, migration, gender equality, and digital citizenship. The project group comprised about 100 students from the University of Le\u00f3n (Spain), the University of Munich (LMU, Germany), Karlsruhe University (Germany), the University of Primorska (Slovenia) and the National Technical University of Ukraine in Kyiv (Ukraine).<\/p>\n
Throughout the project, participants gained first-hand experience in using online technologies to connect, communicate, and collaborate across borders. Working in multicultural teams, students chose themes such as culture, environment, health care, or democracy, and carried out joint research projects comparing how these topics affected their respective countries.<\/p>\n
Based on their research, each group transformed their insights into a product, for example posters, flyers, videos or podcasts, to raise awareness of the issues addressed. They also took action in the local community. The students from Munich presented their research and products at an event at their university and discussed the topics with the audience.<\/p>\n
By combining language learning with digital collaboration and social engagement, the project not only strengthened students\u2019 communication skills but also fostered a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of an interconnected Europe.<\/p>\n
